Vintage 1978 Ginny (NFS, I will be keeping this one for personal reasons)

And Now For Something Completely Different...Dolls, Glorious Dolls!

Soon, I will be filling the "Nana's Vintage Doll Corner"  collection with, well....Nana's vintage dolls (and their related clothing and accessories). I'll tell you a little bit about what's coming in a moment, but first, I want to honor the two amazing women who held this collection before me. I grew up watching Nana lovingly build her collection. Surrounded by so many different kinds of dolls in the rooms of her home, Nana taught me to tie my shoes and how to braid hair. She helped me with my homework on days my aunt couldn't watch me after school. She had a little corner with a tea table set up for me with dolls I was allowed to play with and I can remember garage sale hopping with her and Pop-pop on sunny and sometimes not-so sunny weekend mornings. And while dolls haven't really been my thing since I was a little girl, I got my collecting to the point of nearly hoarding gene from her and my dad and she left me with my own collection of beautiful memories. When Nana got sick, my Aunt Cathy took care of her and her dolls for her final years.  She had to put a lot into storage and just focused on the best ones so Nana could be surrounded by her favorites. Aunt Cathy was probably the best human I've ever known. She had a big bright smile and an amazing goofy sense of humor. She taught me to read and write before I even started school. She tried to instill good values and morals in me. She stepped in when Mom stepped out and she always had my back in more ways than I ever realized when she was here. And since I'm here talking about this I think I can say, Nana and Aunt Cathy are still looking out for me.

Some of the collection will be auctioned on ebay and other sites.  If you follow my socials you can stay up to date on those auctions. Some I will list here. The collection is expansive and I'm still working on bringing it all home. There are Barbies from the 50's to about 1998 (and a handful that Aunt Cathy added after and NO, I do not have a #1 ponytail doll, but man what a dream she would be), Ginny dolls from the 50's to the 90's, Madame Alexander and others. I'll be sorting and adding for a while starting with what's been in storage the longest.  The dolls are in varying condition from damaged to new in never opened boxes. I'm excited to share these with others since I can't possibly house them all in a way that does them justice.
